Today it is virtually impossible to understand the term ‘Master’ in all its depth. It is difficult to penetrate beyond the obvious, beyond concepts such as influence, methods, lineage, fidelity or infidelity. As though the Master were not one who reveals himself, only to disappear. As though his action consisted only in teaching and seducing, instead of being the arduous introduction to the discovery of one’s own creative solitude, without mourning.
